Dr. Stephane Orcel

Stéphane Orcel graduated with a PhD in thermal and energy engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon with a thesis in fluid mechanics in industrial turbomachinery. In 1998, he started at the Engineering Division of Safran Aircraft Engines, as an Aerodynamics Engineer in the combustor and exhaust department. During the last 20 years, he took different engineering position (military engine, testing) and especially performance department for preliminary projects where he more specifically led the design for LEAP engine (A320 NEO, 737 MAX, Comac C919), as well as the preliminary performance design for the Silvercrest product family. In 2013 he created and managed the Product Innovation Lab, gathering all interdisciplinary preliminary teams of SAE.

Since end of 2016, Stéphane Orcel is Vice-President, Product Strategy & Market.
